As the month of August begins in 2009, so do our August weddings. August is a popular month in spite of the warmer temperatures and the chance of monsoon rains.
Saturday, August 1st, Tlaquepaque hosted two weddings for two happy couples. In the intimate Tlaquepaque Chapel, Karen Weedfall and Joe Gorbach held their wedding ceremony in front of their family and friends. Karen Lynn, Sedona Wedding Planner, conducted the beautiful wedding ceremony for Karen and Joe. The bride wore an elegant A Line bridal gown which was so flattering. Fitzhugh Jenkins magically performed guitar during the wedding ceremony. Lynn Bouwkamp was the professional photographer for this lovely wedding. Events by Showstoppers provided the beautiful flowers.
The Sedona Trolley brought all of Karen and Joe’s wedding guests to Tlaquepaque and then transported everyone to the Enchantment Resort for their wedding reception.
On the Patio de las Campanas, Katherine Shanahan and Scott Clarke got married at the foot of the Tlaquepaque Bell Tower. Pastor Trev performed the ceremony and Dan Perry from Photos in Time was their photographer. Dan went to school with Katherine’s father Randy. Katherine walked down the aisle to lovely guitar music. Mountain High Flowers created a lovely floral arch for the cermony accompanied by candelabras provided by Red Rock Candle and Gift. Guests were given personalized fans with a variety of images of Katherine and Scott.
Following the ceremony, guests headed to the Calle Independencia for the wedding reception. Rosalie’s of Sedona has prepared a lovely setting for the reception as well as creating a delicious plated dinner. Bonnie Grant and her staff always do such a super job. Dustin with Arizona Bartenders served cocktails with a smile.
The Walkens Band entertained at the wedding reception performing great music throughout the evening. Vocalist/acoustic guitarist Tod Miller accompanied by Tony King, drummer and Jeff Owens on Bass. The guests danced up a storm and Katherine and Scott has a wonderful time.
The spectacular wedding cake was created by Donna Joy, Sedona Sweet Arts. Each sugar flower was hand made by Donna Joy and the colors matched the reception theme perfectly.
